conversations ~ the ante room ~ mentorship

You don’t need to know what’s underneath what you’re
experiencing before we talk.

Most women don’t. For years I never did.

CONVERSATIONS

You might know exactly what you want to change, or simply know
that something in your life, or in the way you’re experiencing yourself within it, doesn’t
quite feel right anymore, and that’s enough.

You don’t need the right words or a beautifully articulated explanation.

There is a certain kind of magic that can only happen in conversation – that moment
when you hear yourself say something
and realise, deeply, that it’s true.

Bring the confusion, the circling thought, the question you can’t quite answer,
or simply the feeling that something needs to change.

Every woman is different. Every conversation is new.
Every transformation is unique.

We’ll begin with you, exactly where you are.

THE RETURN

I’ve become difficult to hear beneath everyone else.

Sometimes a woman doesn’t lose herself in one sudden or enormous moment.
It happens quietly, across years of caring, accommodating, remembering,
being available
and making decisions around everybody else’s lives.

Then one day somebody asks what she wants, and she
finds the question strangely difficult to answer.

You know everybody else’s preferences.
You know what keeps the peace. You know who needs what from you and when.

But what do you need?
What feels important to you? What do you believe now?

The Return is four private Conversations for the woman who has spent so long
listening outward that the sound of her own internal, true voice
has become difficult to recognise.

This isn’t about becoming somebody new.
There’s nothing about you that needs replacing.

It’s about creating enough room to hear yourself again.

To notice your own wants, your own needs,
your unfollowed dreams that still call you in quiet moments
without immediately measuring them against everybody else’s.

To become curious about the parts of you that have gone quiet, what still belongs
to you, what no longer does, and what may have been
waiting beneath all those years of looking after everyone else.

Quite simply, it’s about returning to your own life as You.

THE CROSSING

I can hear myself, but I don’t yet know who I am here.

Sometimes you haven’t lost yourself at all.

It’s life that has changed.

A relationship has ended. Your career has changed. Someone has died.
Your home has become an empty nest.

Retirement is approaching or has suddenly arrived.
You’re beginning a business or stepping into something you’ve wanted for years.

You know you can’t go backwards, but you don’t yet know what going forward looks like.

And beneath the external change there’s often a much more intimate question:

Who am I… here? Now?

The Crossing
is six private Conversations for the woman standing somewhere
between an old life and a new one.

I don’t have a map of the other side waiting to hand you – you don’t need
somebody else deciding where you should end up.

You need somewhere to hear yourself think.

Somewhere to speak the uncertainty
you may have been trying very hard to make tidy.

Somewhere to explore what you’re carrying forward, what you’re ready to leave
behind, and what this next part of your life might allow you to experience.

Sometimes the space between identities isn’t something to rush through.

Sometimes it’s where we discover who we are now.

THE VOICE

I can hear whispers of the stories I've been living from,
and I'm ready to discover what becomes possible when I stop mistaking them for me.

This is the series of Conversations that touches me most deeply, perhaps
because no two women ever arrive carrying quite the same thing.

Some women know exactly what stories they want to change, while
others simply know they want to change something.

Something has become limiting, exhausting or even unbearable, but
they can’t necessarily see the complete story beneath it.

And underneath… There is always a story.

The thing about our stories is that they’re difficult to recognise because

they are the conversations we have with ourselves.

We’ve repeated them so often they no longer sound like stories.

This is who I am.
This is what I’m like. This is what always happens to me.
This is what I’m allowed to want.

Eventually we stop experiencing them as something we’re telling ourselves.

We experience them as ourselves.

The Voice gives us eight private Conversations and, importantly,
it gives us room.

Room to follow the threads. To listen for the conversation
underneath the conversation. To notice the sentences you’ve been repeating
without realising you’re repeating them and become curious about where
they came from, what they’ve shaped
and whether you still choose to believe them.

Because once you can hear the story, you no longer
have to mistake it for the woman telling it.

And perhaps that’s where an entirely different conversation with yourself can begin.

A FINAL WORD ABOUT 'CONVERSATIONS'

There’s a reason I call these Conversations.

I’m not interested in handing you another identity and asking you to climb inside it.
What I am interested in is becoming deeply curious about you.

Sometimes that means Returning. Sometimes you’re Crossing.
Sometimes it’s about finding your Voice beneath all the stories and voices
you’ve collected along the way.

None begins with the belief that you’re broken.
None is about fixing you.
And none requires me to decide who you should become.

Because we rarely need another person to give us the answer.

We need the kind of conversation that helps us
recognise our own voice when it answers.

To celebrate the opening of Open Doors, I’m offering a small number of founding places at introductory investment before these experiences move to their standard investment.

The Ante Room: A Day of Change

Before every meaningful change there is a threshold.

Do you know the feeling I mean? Nothing may have actually fallen apart.
There’s no enormous crisis you can point towards and say
There. That’s why everything needs to change.

Your life might even look rather good from the outside, and yet
something in you knows I can’t keep living quite like this.

Perhaps you know what needs to change.
But it’s just as likely that you haven’t got the faintest idea.

You simply know that the woman you’ve been doesn’t fit quite as comfortably anymore, but whoever you’re becoming isn’t entirely clear.

I find this such an interesting place in a woman’s life.
It’s a space I’ve found myself in many times.

It’s not quite an ending. It’s not yet a beginning. It’s the room between the two.

I call that place The Ante Room.

Yes it’s uncomfortable. It can scream something that makes you want
to somehow hurry through it,to force yourself forward.

But what we really need is enough time and space to actually be there.

To stop. To listen and question.

To hear ourselves without all the usual noise telling us what we should want,
what would be sensible, what everybody else needs and
who we’ve always believed ourselves to be.

That’s what this day is for.

Not for me to tell you what comes next, but to
create the space in which you can listen to yourself again.

If You Were Sitting With Me

I’d begin with a conversation.

Not a checklist. Not an assessment. Not seventeen questions designed
to squeeze you into a process I’ve already decided upon.

I’d want to know about you. What’s happening? What’s been occupying your thoughts
when nobody else is around?

What keeps circling but never landing? What are you tired of?
What do you find yourself longing for?
What you’ve known you’ve known for quite some time but haven’t yet been
willing to say out loud?
And what would you dearly love to experience differently?

You don’t need beautifully articulated answers.
In fact you don’t actually need answers at all.

You can arrive with a notebook full of thoughts, one very specific thing you want
to change, or the slightly exasperated declaration
I don’t bloody know. I just know something has to change.

And we begin there.

What Happens During The Day?

This is always the hardest part for me to describe because
I haven’t met you yet.

Every woman arrives carrying something different. Grief. Self-doubt. A relationship
that’s changing. Work that no longer fits. A decision
she can’t seem to make. A version of herself she’s tired of living as.

A future she can almost imagine but doesn’t yet trust herself to step towards.

Or perhaps simply that quiet knowing that the life she’s living and the woman
she’s becoming are beginning to pull in different directions.

So I don’t have a standard Ante Room Day waiting for you.
It’s a day that unfolds around you.

There will be conversation. (plenty of it)
There will be moments of complete silence. (which won’t feel uncomfortable)
There may be visualisations or practical exercises.

We may uncover a story you’ve been living from for decades without ever
recognising it as a dark fairytale.

We might follow something you mention almost in passing and discover
it’s considerably more important than either of us first realised.

There’ll most likely be laughter.
There may be tears.
(quite probably both)

We might spend part of the day somewhere neither of us could possibly
have predicted when we began.

And that’s allowed.
Because I don’t work from a script.

I work with the woman sitting in front of me.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT FIXING YOU

I want to make this very clear. You aren’t coming to spend a day with me because there’s something wrong with you.

You don’t need to be repaired or improved into some kind of ‘acceptability’ or turned
into a shinier version of yourself.

What interests me far more is the relationship you’ve been having with yourself.
The stories you’ve believed. The ways you’ve learned to doubt your own knowing.

The places you’ve made yourself smaller.
The identities you’ve continued carrying because you’ve worn them for so long
they simply feel like you.

And what might become possible when you begin questioning some of them.

Because sometimes the most profound change isn’t immediately
changing your circumstances.

It’s experiencing yourself differently within them.

And from there, different decisions become possible. Different conversations become
possible. Different boundaries become possible.

Different futures become visible.

what will you leave with?

I can’t promise you’ll leave with your entire future mapped out.
(actually I don’t believe either of us would really want that)

This isn’t a strategy day in the usual sense of the word.
I’m not interested in handing you a twelve-point plan for how you should now live your life.

What I want you to leave with is yourself.

A quieter mind. Greater clarity.
A deeper sense of your own inner authority. A clearer understanding
of the stories you’ve been living from and
practical ways to continue questioning and changing them.

why 'The Ante Room'

Because I don’t think we honour the space between things enough.

We want the answer. The decision. The new direction. The next identity.
We want to know what happens after the door opens.

But sometimes there’s something enormously valuable about standing at the threshold long enough to ask Who am I as I walk through it?

That’s The Ante Room.
The room before everything changes.

Not because I’m promising your entire life will change in a single day…
but because something in you can.

If you’re standing somewhere between
I can’t keep living like this and I don’t yet know what comes next,
perhaps this is exactly the room you need.

I’d be delighted to meet you there.

MENTORSHIP

If you came and sat down with me today and I asked you
What do you want from the next six or twelve months of your life lovely?

I wonder what you’d say.

Because you might know immediately, or you might look at me,
laugh slightly uncomfortably and say
Well that’s a very good question Sandie.

And honestly, either answer would be perfectly welcome here.

Because there comes a point in many women’s lives when the question
begins changing. We stop asking quite so often
What should I do? and begin
asking something much more personal.

What do I want?
And eventually we reach… Who do I want to be?

I’ve never known those answers to arrive either neatly packaged or all at once.
They tend to reveal themselves while we’re busy living.

They come through ordinary Tuesdays and difficult conversations. Through the decision
you’ve circled for months and finally make.  Through that thing that doesn’t go
remotely according to plan.

Through the wonderful thing you didn’t expect.

The answers come through those moments when an old story
reappears and you suddenly realise
I don’t have to respond to it in the way I always did.

This is why I love Mentorship.

Not because I believe you need anyone telling you
how you should be living your life.
Quite the opposite.

It’s because I want you to trust yourself so deeply
that you don’t need me to have your answers.

But sometimes there’s something so rich and extraordinary
about having another woman walking beside you while you’re finding your own new way.

Someone who knows the stories you’ve been questioning
and recognises when one is trying to
quietly wander back in wearing a convincing disguise.

Someone who sees your strength on the days when you’ve temporarily
forgotten it. Who can remind you of the woman you’ve decided to be
until you no longer need reminding.

Someone who’ll celebrate the apparently tiny shift you almost didn’t mention
because she understands it might not be tiny at all.

And someone who believes in you while you’re learning to believe in yourself,
and continues to believe long after you do.

Because lasting change in your life is created through the way you live.

Why Mentorship?

Some conversations change everything in a moment.
Others change us quietly over time.

Mentorship gives us time for the second kind.

This isn’t about creating dependence.
Becoming the person you need to consult before making a decision does not interest me.

You becoming increasingly able to hear yourself does.

You recognising what feels true.
You trusting your own decisions without requiring somebody else to guarantee the outcome.
You remaining on your own side when things don’t go according to plan.

I’m here for you to have somewhere to bring the real stuff as you’re learning to live that way.

The thing you haven’t quite been able to untangle alone. The conversation
you know you need to have. The old story that’s suddenly become very loud again.

The unexpected success you’re still trying to catch up with.
The completely ordinary Wednesday on which you simply need somewhere safe to land.

You don’t have to make your life profound before you bring it to me.

Your life is the work.

perhaps Mentorship is For You

Perhaps you’ve already done a whole lot of inner work.

You understand yourself far better than you once did.
You’ve questioned old stories.
You’ve made changes.
You’ve had your own breakthroughs.

And yet knowing something and living from it aren’t always the same thing.

You get that visiting a new identity and then returning to the old one whenever life becomes difficult can only take you so far.

You want enough time and space for the changes you’ve begun making to become ordinary.
To become completely natural.
To become yours.

You don’t want another programme to complete or
another collection of information to consume. You want a relationship where you can arrive exactly as you are that week and move forward from there.

Because the thing is lovely, I don’t mentor women through programmes.
I mentor them through life.

What our time together actually looks like

We meet regularly over your choice of six or twelve months in a rhythm
that works with and supports your life.

I can’t tell you exactly what we’ll talk about every time because I don’t yet know
the woman who’ll arrive for each conversation.

But then, from here, neither do you.

I can tell you that there’ll be days we’ll untangle old stories, and days
we’ll celebrate extraordinary wins, and other days where we’ll make practical decisions
about your work or family or relationships.

You might arrive one week carrying the heaviness of loss, and the next be making a decision you’ve avoided for years.

Heck! You might arrive furious. Confused. Excited. Exhausted. Full of ideas.
Or with absolutely no idea what you need
to talk about until you begin talking.

And every one of these conversations belongs.
Because neither you nor your life ever arrives divided into convenient categories.

There is no Mentorship Version of You
who needs to turn up prepared, insightful and ready with something suitably
transformational to discuss.

There is simply you.
And we’ll begin there.

The Woman Walking Beside You

There’s something very personal about being invited into another woman’s life in this way.

Over months, I get to witness things that can be almost invisible from the outside.
The first time you respond differently. The boundary that once felt
impossible becoming completely ordinary.

The decision you make without asking five other people first.
The moment you hear an old story and realise you simply don’t believe it anymore.

I get to know the woman you’re becoming while you’re still getting to know her yourself.

And I never take that trust for granted.

Walking beside another woman while she consciously becomes more fully herself
is one of the greatest privileges of my life – not because I get to
decide who she becomes.

But because I get to be there while she does.

If this feels like the kind of relationship you’ve been
looking for, let’s have a conversation.

Not so I can convince you (convincing is not my style)

Simply so we can meet, talk about where you are, what you’re wanting,
and discover whether I’m the woman you want walking beside you for what comes next.
